For 2010 GWID returned to its one day format and it was gratifying in a week of very mixed weather that the day began warm, dry and sunny - and stayed that way!
A very interesting selection of two- and four-wheeled Italian transport occupied the area between the Designer Outlet Shopping Centre and the National Trust Central Office and while red was -as ever- a strong feature of the machinery on display there were some less predictable colours to be seen.
Marques attending included Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Benelli, Ducati, Ferrari, Fiat, Lancia, Maserati, Moto Morini, Moto Guzzi and Vespa, with many less-common variants being present.
Examples of Lancia and Ducati were judged by the entrants to be the most appealing and took home impressive awards.
Although some chose to spend the day among the vehicles, others visited some of the 100+ shops in the Outlet Centre, relaxed in the National Trust building or took in the STEAM museum, where as well as celebrating the 175th anniversary of the GWR various other events were taking place.
With much interest from the general public and a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, our aim of 'bringing enthusiasts together' was once again realised as members and associates spent a very pleasant day.
